Heightened Concern Over Explosives
The incident comes amid heightened concern over the recovery of explosives in Bhangar. Earlier, the Centre ordered a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the recovery of 79 crude bombs in Bhangar on Saturday. According to the order, the Centre said it was of the opinion that a scheduled offence under the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008, had been committed. It added that the case involved the illegal storage and handling of explosives and crude bombs intended to endanger lives and property and create fear among the public.
Recovery in Bhangar
On Saturday, police from North Kashipur station had raided an abandoned house near a burial ground at Poilepara, where they recovered 79 round-shaped objects tied with jute ropes resembling crude bombs, along with other incriminating materials. Further investigation is underway in both cases.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The police are conducting thorough searches in the affected areas to ensure safety.
