The massive anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district has entered its sixth consecutive day. Joint teams comprising the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and other paramilitary forces are conducting extensive combing operations in the dense Dorimal-Gambhir Moghla forest belt.
Operation Intensifies with Advanced Surveillance
The operation was launched following intelligence inputs indicating the presence of foreign terrorists hiding in the region. Security forces have significantly intensified their efforts with the deployment of helicopters, drones, sniffer dogs, and additional troops to track down the suspects. The forces are believed to be targeting cave-like hideouts deep inside the forest while tightening the outer cordon to prevent any potential escape.
Heavy Gunfire and Explosions Reported
Local reports have indicated heavy gunfire and explosions in the forest area during the ongoing operation. However, authorities have not officially confirmed the outcome of the latest assault. Security Review Ahead of Eid and Amarnath Yatra
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police chief Nalin Prabhat conducted a security review ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Senior security agencies have been directed to strengthen surveillance and coordination across sensitive locations in the Valley to ensure the safety of pilgrims and local residents during these events.
