In the early hours of Tuesday, at approximately 1:05 AM, a deadly blast ripped through the residence at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district. Five-year-old Oinam Tomthin and his infant sister, Oinam Yaisana, were asleep when the explosion devastated their home. The protective mosquito net, designed to shield them from minor threats, proved utterly helpless against the destructive force that claimed their lives.

"We were preparing for our granddaughter's weaning ceremony next month," said their 70-year-old grandfather, Oinam Babudhon, breaking down in tears. "Her brother was only five. They were innocent children—I don't know what to say anymore."
The family had been eagerly anticipating Yaisana's weaning ceremony, as she was just weeks away from turning six months old. Their father, Oinam Mangalngamba, a Border Security Force soldier currently posted in Bihar, had been home until last month. Binita, a nurse working in Guwahati, had planned to return to her duties following her daughter's ceremony.
Oinam Budhichandra, Mangalngamba's uncle, described the tragedy as a moment of profound mourning for the entire extended family. The bodies of the two siblings now rest at a hospital morgue following post-mortem examinations, awaiting family members to claim them.
