A middle-aged couple allegedly died by suicide inside their car near the Dev Dungri Mataji temple in Mandsaur on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Dushyant Soni, a private bank collection executive, and his wife Ushmita Soni, a guest lecturer at a government college.
Sequence of events
The couple left their home on Friday evening, telling relatives they were visiting a local temple. When they failed to return, family members began searching for them. They were later located at a private hospital in critical condition. Ushmita died early Saturday morning, while Dushyant succumbed to his injuries a few hours later during treatment.
Suicide note recovered
Before Dushyant’s death, police and administrative officials recorded his statement, which led to the recovery of a suicide note from the vehicle. The note stated that the couple was taking this step voluntarily due to personal problems and requested that their family should not be harassed.
YD Nagar police station in-charge Shivanshu Malviya confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
