Five Family Members Killed in Head-On Collision on NH-150

Kalaburagi: Five members of a family were killed in a tragic accident involving a cruiser and a truck on National Highway-150 near Wadi in Chittapur taluk late Friday night.

Victims Identified

The deceased have been identified as Mohmad Hussain (60), Fatima Abdul Saab (40), Rasul Bee (40), Mahbub Sangavi (37), and the cruiser driver Tolu Pasha (24), all residents of Ingalagi village in Chittapur taluk.

Incident Details

According to reports, a man named Mahmud Abdul Saab suffered a paralysis attack during the night. Eight family members traveled in a cruiser to admit him to a hospital in Yadgir. After admitting the patient at around 11:40 pm, they were returning home when a head-on collision occurred between their cruiser and a Tamil Nadu-registered truck near Ladlapur. Five occupants of the cruiser died on the spot, and the vehicle was completely crushed in the impact.

Police Response

Senior police officials, including SP Addur Srinivasalu, DSP Shankar Gowda Patil, Chittapur CPI CS Patil, PSI K Thirumalesha, and Renuka Udagi from Wadi station, visited the accident site. The bodies were shifted to Wadi Government Community Health Centre for postmortem.

Minister Expresses Grief

Kalaburagi district minister Priyank Kharge expressed shock over the accident. On micro-blogging site X, he conveyed his grief over the loss of precious lives. "I have spoken to the district police department about this. We and the district administration are going to give full cooperation to the family of the deceased. I hope that the family of the deceased will get the strength to bear the loss of their loved ones," he said.
