A tragic incident occurred off Sinquerim beach in Goa on Sunday, where a 55-year-old tourist from Solapur, Maharashtra, lost his life due to drowning. According to Drishti Marine lifesavers, the victim was observed struggling in the water after being caught in a powerful rip current.

Rescue Efforts

The lifeguards quickly responded and brought the unresponsive individual back to the shore. Upon reaching the beach, the team immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while another lifesaver deployed an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an attempt to revive him.

Medical Declaration

Despite their efforts, the victim remained unresponsive. He was then rushed to the Candolim Primary Health Centre (PHC), where medical officials later declared him dead. The Calangute police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
