Koraput: Mild tremors were felt in almost all villages of Chandahandi block in Nabarangpur district on Wednesday evening, causing panic among residents. According to reports, the tremors were experienced around 7:42 pm in Chandahandi block, adjoining Devbhog of neighbouring Chhattisgarh, and parts of Kalahandi district. Household furniture and utensils reportedly shook, prompting many residents to rush out of their homes in fear. As messages and posts about the tremors spread rapidly on social media groups, panic gripped the area. However, officials at the district emergency centre said no reports of any damage or casualties had been received. The tremors did not result in any structural damage, but the sudden shaking left residents anxious. Local authorities have advised people to remain calm and follow safety protocols. Further monitoring is underway to assess any aftershocks.
