A 45-year-old parcel service employee was discovered dead near a railway track at Edava in Varkala on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Madhu, a resident of Ottapalam in Palakkad district.

According to police officials, local residents noticed the body lying near the railway gate around 9:30 am and immediately alerted the authorities. Personnel from the Varkala-Ayiroor police station promptly arrived at the scene and initiated inquest proceedings along with other legal formalities.

Police have stated that the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. However, preliminary findings suggest that Madhu may have fallen from a moving train during a journey and sustained fatal injuries. Investigators are currently examining all possible circumstances surrounding the incident.
