Rajasthan Zero Spending on Tribal Welfare for Two Years

Jaipur: Government data has revealed that Rajasthan recorded no expenditure for two consecutive financial years under the Centre's Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), despite approvals for tribal welfare infrastructure.

Sanctions and Unutilized Funds

Sanctions totaling Rs 116.7 crore were issued for developing 163 hostels and residential schools in Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) areas in 2024-25 and 2025-26. Of this, Rs 45 crore was authorized, but the funds remained unutilized, triggering concerns over delays in tribal area development works.

Lok Sabha Reply Details

According to a reply by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs in Lok Sabha, proposals for 16 hostels and residential schools were approved in 2024-25 at an approved amount of Rs 28.7 crore. However, no amount was authorized or spent in the same financial year. In 2025-26, proposals for 147 hostels and residential schools were approved at a cost of Rs 88 crore. While Rs 45 crore was authorized in the same year, zero expenditure was recorded.
