Terror Threat Note Found at Ahmedabad Sports Club

A handwritten note warning of a terror attack on a sports complex near Sardar Patel Stadium in Navrangpura, Ahmedabad, triggered a security scare on Monday evening. The discovery prompted an immediate response from police, bomb disposal squads, and fire brigade teams, who conducted a thorough search of the premises. However, no suspicious objects were found during the operation.

Discovery of the Note

According to police, housekeeping staff found the note while cleaning a room at the Sports Club that had recently been occupied by three Tanzanian nationals. The note stated that a terror attack would be carried out at the sports complex on June 21. In-charge Police Inspector H P Garasia of Naranpura police station confirmed the details, adding that a local resident had booked the room for the three Tanzanian nationals. The club's facility manager alerted the authorities about the note.

Investigation Underway

Police revealed that the foreign nationals had stayed at the club on May 29 and May 30. Investigators have begun questioning the three Tanzanian nationals, who were reportedly in Jaipur on Monday. The local resident who booked the room for them has also been summoned for questioning. A complaint has been registered in connection with the incident.
