A tragic road accident occurred on Tuesday near Tandra village in Kalwakurthy mandal of Nagarkurnool district, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and serious injuries to a third. The victims were traveling in a car that lost control and overturned on the Raichur-Kodad National Highway.
Details of the Accident
According to police officials, the car was traveling from Kalwakurthy towards Vangoor when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle. During this manoeuvre, the car collided with the other vehicle and veered out of control before overturning. The impact was severe, leading to the deaths of two occupants on the spot.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Bandapalli Balu (29) and Bandapalli Praveen (27), both residents of Vangoor mandal headquarters. They sustained fatal injuries in the crash and died instantly.
The driver of the car, identified as Raju, suffered serious injuries and was initially taken to the Kalwakurthy government hospital for treatment. Due to the severity of his condition, doctors later referred him to a hospital in Hyderabad for advanced medical care.
Police Investigation
Upon receiving information about the accident, Kalwakurthy sub-inspector Kurumurthy and his team rushed to the scene. They inspected the site and gathered details about the crash. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the Kalwakurthy Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
