Youth Murdered by Roommate in Saudi Arabia, Family Seeks Body

Prayagraj: District authorities have written to the external affairs ministry to bring the body of a 23-year-old youth, who was allegedly murdered by his roommate in Saudi Arabia, back to his native village Dalipur in the trans-Ganga area of Prayagraj.

Family Seeks Help from Local MP

The family has contacted the local MP, who asked district authorities to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs to bring the body back.

Allegations of Murder

Family members alleged that Akash Kumar of Dalipur village was stoned to death by his roommate. Akash had gone to Saudi Arabia in November last year and was working as a goat herder.

His father, Gulab Chand, a farmer, said Akash spoke to them two days ago and expressed a desire to return home. However, seeing the family’s poor financial condition, he decided to stay on.

Family Receives News of Death

On Saturday, the family received a call informing them of Akash’s death. They claim he was stoned to death by his roommate on Friday night.

Official Response

A senior district official said, “We have written to MEA regarding the matter.”
