In a tragic incident in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur district, two young brothers lost their lives after drowning in a stream near their village in the Nohradhar area on Thursday. The incident took place in the Devamanal gram panchayat of Sangrah sub-division, which falls under the Shri Renukaji Assembly constituency.
Details of the Incident
According to police officials, the victims were identified as Ayaan (8) and his elder brother Abhinav (9). The brothers had gone to a nearby forest area to graze their goats and oxen. While playing near a stream, Ayaan accidentally slipped into deep water. Seeing his younger brother struggling, Abhinav immediately jumped into the stream to rescue him. However, due to the depth of the water and the strong current, both brothers drowned.
Rescue Attempt and Aftermath
Upon hearing their cries, family members and villagers rushed to the spot. Their father pulled the children out of the water, and they were rushed to Nohradhar Hospital in an ambulance with the help of police. However, doctors declared both brothers dead upon arrival. Police have registered a case, and a post-mortem is being conducted on the bodies.
The tragic incident has left the entire village in mourning. Local authorities have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family.
