Trump Proclaims Iran's Regional Ambitions 'Dead' Following US Military Strike
In a bold declaration on Saturday, US President Donald Trump asserted that Iran's long-standing ambitions to dominate the entire Middle East region and obliterate Israel have been effectively neutralized. Through a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, "Iran had plans of taking over the entire Middle East, and completely obliterating Israel. JUST LIKE IRAN ITSELF, THOSE PLANS ARE NOW DEAD!" This announcement came in the wake of a significant military operation ordered by the president.
Massive US Bombing Raid Targets Kharg Island
Earlier, Trump detailed that the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) executed a large-scale bombing raid on military targets located on Kharg Island in Iran. He described this operation as one of the most powerful in the history of the Middle East, claiming it "totally obliterated" every military site on the island. The strike was carried out under his direct orders, emphasizing the precision and force of the US military.
Trump highlighted that the United States deliberately avoided targeting oil infrastructure on Kharg Island, citing reasons of decency. However, he issued a stern warning that this decision could be reversed if Iran or any other entity interferes with shipping in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. "However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision," he cautioned.
Trump Touts US Military Superiority and Issues Ultimatum
In his posts, Trump boasted about the strength of the US military, which he claimed has been rebuilt into the "Most Lethal, Powerful, and Effective Force" globally. He asserted that Iran lacks the capability to defend against American attacks, stating, "Iran has NO ability to defend anything that we want to attack --There is nothing they can do about it!"
Furthermore, Trump reiterated his firm stance against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, declaring, "Iran will NEVER have a nuclear weapon, nor will it have the ability to threaten the United States of America, the Middle East or, for that matter, the World!" He also called for Iran's military and its allies to surrender, warning them to lay down their arms to preserve what remains of their country.
This development marks a significant escalation in US-Iran tensions, with Trump positioning the strike as a decisive blow to Iran's regional influence. The statements underscore ongoing geopolitical struggles in the Middle East, highlighting the US commitment to countering perceived threats from Iran.
