In a deeply disturbing case from Florida, USA, a 26-year-old science teacher has been taken into custody on serious charges of engaging in sexual acts with a minor student. The alleged abuse, which investigators say was planned using a shared Google Document, took place both on school premises and at the teacher's private residence.
Secret Google Doc Used for Illicit Communication
Elias Gordon Farley, a teacher at the Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, is accused of using technology to secretly communicate with the student. According to an arrest affidavit, what began as casual chats during the previous school year escalated over the summer of 2023. Farley allegedly created a shared Google Doc where they exchanged messages.
Investigators stated that the digital file later contained explicit entries that described sexual activity and coordinated plans for private meetings. This digital paper trail became a key piece of evidence in the case.
Alleged Abuse on Campus and at Teacher's Flat
The student's account to detectives paints a harrowing picture of systematic abuse. She reported that the relationship turned physical in mid-September inside Farley's school office, where he touched her beneath her clothing. The encounters reportedly continued for weeks in his office and a classroom.
By late September and into October, the pair engaged in sexual acts, including oral sex and intercourse, inside a classroom on the school campus. In a bold move, the student visited Farley's apartment twice in early November after recognising details he had shared about its location.
Deputies confirmed that several sexual encounters occurred during those visits. Evidence collected from a search warrant included bedding, condom wrappers, and furniture matching the student's description. Farley's flatmate also confirmed his absence on the dates of the alleged visits.
Investigation and Arrest
The situation came to light after the student confided in an art teacher on November 14, showing bruises and bite marks she claimed were inflicted by Farley. School administrators were informed the next day, leading to Farley's immediate suspension and a report to child welfare authorities.
The student formally reported the alleged abuse on November 18. Following an investigation, Elias Gordon Farley was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Main Detention Centre on December 4. He faces charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and offence against a student by an authority figure.
He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond. According to the affidavit, Farley refused to speak with detectives after being read his Miranda rights.
School surveillance video reviewed by deputies showed Farley and the student entering his office together on November 7 and later entering a classroom for about an hour.
School's Response and Aftermath
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Donna Klein Jewish Academy said it is cooperating fully with the investigation and called the situation “a difficult time for all of us.”
“We are approaching this serious situation with the utmost care, keeping the well-being of our students, faculty and families at the forefront,” a spokesperson said. The school confirmed that Farley is no longer employed there but declined to give further details out of respect for the community's privacy.
