The 16th edition of Alva's Pragati, a mega job fair organised as a CSR initiative by Alva's Education Foundation, is expected to host around 300 companies and offer thousands of job opportunities for employment seekers, foundation chairman M Mohan Alva said on Saturday.

Addressing reporters, Alva said the two-day placement drive will be held from August 7 at Alva's campus in Moodubidire. Alva's Pragati, launched in 2007 as a mass recruitment platform, is focused on widening access to employment, particularly for candidates from rural backgrounds and those with limited exposure to recruitment networks.
Recruiters and Sectors
Recruiters are expected from a broad range of sectors including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), information technology, IT-enabled services, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, sales and retail, hospitality, telecommunications, health, media, construction, electronics, education and NGOs.
Eligibility and Opportunities
The fair will cater to graduates and postgraduates across streams such as medical and paramedical, engineering, arts, commerce and management, basic sciences, nursing and ITI. Opportunities will also be available for diploma holders, skilled manpower and candidates with PUC and SSLC qualifications.
Historical Impact and Statistics
Foundation managing trustee Vivek Alva said Pragati draws candidates from four states and functions as a mass placement drive enabling job seekers to explore local, national and international openings. It has hosted 22 mass placement drives so far, with each edition typically seeing participation from an average of 250 reputed companies. Cumulatively, 66,432 candidates have been shortlisted and 40,848 have received spot job offers.

Vivek said that details of participating companies will be updated in real time on https://alvaspragati.com and candidates have been advised to check the website regularly. He said online registration is compulsory to streamline and digitise the recruitment and selection process.
