Srikakulam Police Arrest Two Burglars, Recover Rs 80 Lakh

Visakhapatnam: The Srikakulam district police have arrested two interstate burglars for their involvement in a series of property offences across parts of the district. The police recovered stolen valuables worth Rs 80 lakh from the accused.

Accused Identified

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Mizan (36) and Mohammad Hassan (26), both natives of the Malda district in West Bengal. The duo has a history of property offences in the Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts.

Police Operation and Recovery

Srikakulam district police chief KV Maheswara Reddy stated that the Kasibugga police solved the series of property offences and recovered 120 grams of gold, 20 kilograms of silver ornaments, Rs 1 lakh in cash, and one bike from the duo.

Modus Operandi

Investigation revealed that the accused would conduct reconnaissance during the morning hours to identify locked houses and then strike at night. Mizan had been involved in 16 property offences in north Andhra Pradesh and had prior convictions. However, he continued his criminal activities along with Hassan after being released from prison.

The police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
