Andhra Pradesh to Establish Major Toys Park in Nakkapalli

The Nakkapalli area in Anakapalli district is poised to become a hub for toy manufacturing with the establishment of a world-class toys park. The Andhra Pradesh government is actively advancing this proposal, focusing on land verification between two villages in the Payakaraopeta Assembly Constituency, which is represented by state home minister Vangalapudi Anita.

Employment and Investment Details

This ambitious project is expected to generate employment for nearly 22,000 women, providing significant economic empowerment and financial security. The toys park will be developed on 543 acres of land near Upamakar in Nakkapalli mandal, with a substantial investment of ₹15,000 crore. The state government has formalized this initiative by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pals Plush, the company leading the project, which commits to creating large-scale employment opportunities, particularly for women.

Land Inspection and Acquisition

Industries department principal secretary N Yuvaraj has conducted two site visits to Nakkapalli to identify suitable land, accompanied by representatives from Pals Plush. During these inspections, officials evaluated a large parcel comprising 108 acres of government land, with the remaining area classified under D patta and Gerayat holdings. Land acquisition is scheduled to commence in April, ensuring the project progresses smoothly.

Manufacturing and Timeline

The company plans to specialize in manufacturing eco-friendly toys, aligning with global sustainability trends. The foundation stone-laying ceremony is expected to occur soon, with production targeted to begin by the end of next year. Home minister Vangalapudi Anita has emphasized that these toy units will play a crucial role in empowering women and enhancing their financial stability.

Local Impact and Workforce

According to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), nearly 90% of the employees at the toys park will be women, with the majority being local residents of Nakkapalli mandal. This focus on local hiring aims to boost the regional economy and provide sustainable livelihood options. The project represents a significant step towards industrial development in the area, promising to transform the local employment landscape and contribute to the state's economic growth.
