Maharashtra Chief Minister Inaugurates High-Tech Industrial Park in Nagpur
Nagpur: In a significant move to bolster industrial growth, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis performed the bhoomi pooja for the ₹700-crore XSIO Advanced Industrial & Manufacturing Park on Saturday. The ceremony took place at Linga along the Nagpur–Amravati road, marking a pivotal step in the state's economic development.
Project Details and Vision
Fadnavis hailed the project as a catalyst for economic transformation, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence in modern industrial operations. "Advanced manufacturing is the mantra for today's generation, where precision, innovation, and automation are taking production to a new level," he stated. "We aim to position Nagpur as a hub for next-generation logistics and an industrial magnet, with this project serving as a pioneering initiative."
The park is being developed by XSIO Industrial & Logistics Parks, with financial backing from the global investment firm Blackstone. It forms part of a larger ₹8,142-crore investment program across Maharashtra, underscoring the state's commitment to industrial expansion.
Technological Integration and Phases
As part of the first phase, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for three industrial units: Neev, Sankalpa, and Udaan. The Linga facility is designed as an intelligence-integrated industrial park, equipped with cutting-edge features such as:
- AI-driven building management systems
- Digital twin technology for simulation and optimization
- Advanced utility networks to support next-generation manufacturing processes
This project is XSIO's second venture in Nagpur, following its logistics park along the Mumbai–Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg, highlighting the region's growing industrial appeal.
Economic Impact and Statements
Fadnavis highlighted India's economic trajectory, noting, "India is now the world's fourth-largest economy and is moving towards becoming the third-largest. The manufacturing sector will play a crucial role in that journey." He credited Ashish Agrawal, Managing Director of XSIO Industrial & Logistics Parks, and Blackstone for driving the project, recalling Agrawal's commitment to Nagpur as his "karmabhoomi" (workplace).
Ashish Agrawal expressed that the project marks a milestone in Maharashtra's industrial development. "By integrating advanced digital technologies with institutional-grade infrastructure, we are creating a manufacturing ecosystem that enhances productivity, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness," he said. Agrawal added that two additional projects are planned in Nagpur, including developments at Wardhaman Nagar and Butibori.
Alok Jain, Managing Director of Blackstone India, commented on the global economic shift, stating, "Earlier, growth was driven largely by agriculture and oil. Today, manufacturing, supply chain networks, and AI are shaping the new industrial economy." He emphasized that industrial parks generate a multiplier effect by creating employment and retaining economic value within the country.

The launch event near Linga village was attended by several dignitaries, including:
- Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule
