Firecracker Unit Explosion in Botad Claims Teenager's Life, Leaves Two Injured
A devastating industrial accident unfolded on Saturday morning in the Botad district of Gujarat, where a fire triggered a powerful explosion at a licensed firecracker manufacturing unit. The incident, which occurred in Timbli village within Barvala taluka, resulted in one fatality and left two individuals with serious injuries.

According to local police reports, the explosions rocked the small-scale firecracker unit between 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM. The facility was situated on the outskirts of Timbli village, a rural area known for such small industrial operations. Victims Identified and Their Conditions
The deceased has been identified as Hardik Solanki, a 17-year-old laborer hailing from Rampara village. Solanki was employed at the unit and tragically lost his life in the blast. The injured include Jaydeep Sathala from Bela village and the factory owner, Bhupat Vyas, who is a resident of Ahmedabad.
Both injured individuals were initially rushed to Botad General Hospital for urgent medical attention. Due to the severity of his injuries, Bhupat Vyas was subsequently referred to a hospital in Bhavnagar for advanced treatment and specialized care. Medical teams are closely monitoring the conditions of both survivors.

Preliminary investigations by authorities suggest that a fire broke out unexpectedly among the raw materials stored for manufacturing firecrackers. This initial blaze quickly escalated, triggering a secondary explosion in the stored explosive substances. The force of the blast was so intense that it blew off the roof tiles of the unit and propelled Hardik Solanki a significant distance from the site.
Speaking to the media, Botad Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Sharma provided crucial details about the incident. "It was a very small unit and had a licence to operate," Sharma stated. He further added, "We will register an offence after completing the investigation. It is not yet clear whether the minors were working there or came to visit." This statement highlights the ongoing nature of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the presence of young individuals at the facility.
