Hyundai Unveils 2026 Verna Facelift in India with Enhanced Design and Technology

Hyundai has officially launched the 2026 Verna in the Indian market, introducing significant updates to both the exterior and interior of this popular sedan. The new model aims to blend modern aesthetics with advanced features, catering to the evolving preferences of car buyers in the country.

Exterior Design and Colour Variants

The 2026 Hyundai Verna showcases a refreshed exterior design that enhances its visual appeal. At the front, the car features a dual LED projector headlamp setup and a sleek black chrome radiator grille, giving it a bold and contemporary look. The rear has been updated with a modified bumper design and an aerodynamic spoiler, which not only adds to the style but also improves performance. Standard R16 diamond-cut alloy wheels complement the overall design, while LED tail lamps and connected LED positioning lamps provide a distinctive lighting signature.

Satin chrome accents are used for the window belt line and outside door handles, adding a touch of sophistication. New colour options have been introduced, including Titan Grey Matte and Classy Blue, offering buyers more choices to personalize their vehicle.

Interior Features and Comfort

Inside, the 2026 Verna offers a premium cabin experience with several upgrades. The seats are upholstered in leatherette, providing both comfort and durability. The steering wheel features a D-cut design for better grip and control, while the gear knob is wrapped in leatherette for a refined feel. A sliding front centre armrest with storage adds convenience for daily use.

Turbo variants come equipped with metal pedals, enhancing the sporty appeal. Smart key with push-button start is standard across the range, ensuring ease of access and operation. The highlight of the interior is the dual 10.25-inch integrated displays, one for the infotainment system and the other for the digital cluster, offering a seamless and high-tech interface.

Engine and Transmission Options

The 2026 Hyundai Verna is powered by two petrol engine options, providing flexibility for different driving needs. The 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine delivers 84.4 kW (115 PS) at 6,300 r/min and 143.8 Nm of torque at 4,500 r/min, suitable for efficient daily commuting. For those seeking more power, the 1.5-litre Turbo GDi petrol engine produces 117.5 kW (160 PS) at 5,500 r/min and 253 Nm of torque between 1,500–3,500 r/min, offering robust performance.

Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, iVT (intelligent Variable Transmission), and a 7-speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), depending on the engine and variant selected. The model is available in six variants, allowing buyers to choose based on their preferences and budget.

Safety and Driver Protection Features

Safety is a key focus for the 2026 Verna, with a comprehensive suite of features designed to protect occupants. The car comes with seven airbags and all four disc brakes for enhanced braking performance. An electronic parking brake with auto hold function is standard, providing convenience in stop-and-go traffic.

Additional safety elements include front park assist sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) in Highline variants. The vehicle also features ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill-start assist control, headlamp escort function, seatbelt reminders for all seats, and an emergency stop signal. Electronic stability control with vehicle stability management ensures better handling and stability in various driving conditions.

Technology and Driver Assistance Features

The 2026 Verna is packed with advanced technology to enhance the driving experience. It includes a three-year Bluelink subscription with over 70 connected features, enabling remote access and control via a smartphone app. A surround-view monitor (SVM) and blind-spot view monitor (BVM) aid in parking and lane changes, improving safety.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support seamless smartphone integration, while the system supports multiple languages for both the cluster and infotainment. Voice commands cover more than 350 functions, allowing for hands-free operation. Ambient sounds of nature are also available to create a relaxing cabin environment.

Driver assistance features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist for vehicles, pedestrians, cycles, and junction turns, along with Forward Collision Warning and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist. These systems help prevent accidents and enhance overall safety on the road.
