Bengaluru-based ready-to-cook Indian foods leader, iD Fresh Food, has officially opened its new automated manufacturing plant in Hyderabad. This strategic move significantly expands the company's production network across India and reinforces its presence in one of its foundational markets. The inauguration marks a pivotal step in iD Fresh Food's growth trajectory, enhancing its operational capabilities and market reach.
Doubling Production Capacity and Modernizing Operations
The newly established greenfield facility spans an impressive 40,000 square feet and effectively doubles the company's production capacity for key products like batter and parotas in the Hyderabad region. With this launch, iD Fresh Food has phased out its older plant, transitioning to a more advanced and efficient setup. The modern plant not only boosts output but also sets the stage for future product diversification, including potential manufacturing of chapatis, thereby broadening the company's portfolio in this vital area.
Strategic Market Expansion and Employment Impact
iD Fresh Foods India CEO, Rajat Diwaker, emphasized that Hyderabad is a critical market for the company. He highlighted that the new facility will serve not only Hyderabad but also extend its reach to nearby regions such as Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. This expansion is part of a broader network strategy, as the company now operates four owned plants and nine third-party manufacturing units, including locations in Vizag, Chennai, and Kolkata. Additionally, plans are underway for new third-party units in Indore, expected to commence commercial production next month, and Ahmedabad, further solidifying iD Fresh Food's national footprint.
Commitment to Clean-Label Food and Sustainability
Global CEO and chairman of iD Fresh Food, PC Musthafa, stated that the Hyderabad plant embodies the company's dedication to clean-label food, hygiene, technology, and sustainability. The facility is designed to strengthen the supply chain, enabling the delivery of freshness at scale without compromising on quality. Musthafa added that the company aims to build a hyperlocal supply chain, ensuring products remain fresh and accessible. The plant employs more than 200 people, with 99% of the workforce recruited from the local community, supporting employment and skill development in the area.
