The incident occurred on Thursday evening along the Kuhi-Ambhora main road in the Bhandarbodi area, sending flames and dense smoke high into the sky.

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation's fire and emergency services control room received an alert about the blaze at approximately 7:58 PM. Authorities promptly dispatched two fire tenders to the site. As the fire intensified, additional firefighting units from Mouda and Umred were called in to assist with containment efforts.
Firefighters confronted significant challenges throughout the night as the bulk-stored cotton continued to smolder, requiring extended firefighting operations. The visible flames and thick smoke plumes created panic among residents in the surrounding neighborhoods.

A young boy sustained burn injuries in the incident and was immediately transported to Government Medical College and Hospital in Nagpur for emergency medical treatment. Hospital officials have reported that the boy's condition is currently stable.
The fire completely destroyed large quantities of cotton stored on the mill premises. Preliminary estimates suggest the financial losses could run into crores of rupees, though a comprehensive damage assessment is still underway.
