MPIDC Launches Plot Allotment in Jaora Industrial Area with Strong MSME Interest

The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is set to commence the allotment of industrial plots in the newly developed Jaora industrial area located in Ratlam district this month. This initiative is witnessing significant early demand, primarily driven by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) seeking smaller plot sizes to establish manufacturing units.

Rising MSME Demand Across Diverse Sectors

Industry representatives have reported a surge in interest from MSMEs across the Malwa region. Entrepreneurs are particularly focused on sectors such as agro-processing, spice and oil extraction units, plastic moulding, packaging, light engineering, fabrication, and small textile units. Many of these businesses are currently operating from informal or leased spaces and are eager to transition to an organized industrial setup that offers superior infrastructure and long-term stability.

Infrastructure and Plot Details

The Jaora Industrial Area spans an extensive 35.856 hectares and features 158 plots of varying sizes designed to accommodate different investment capacities. The indicative rate for these plots is approximately Rs 300 per square foot. Industry bodies have emphasized that compact plot configurations will enable first-generation entrepreneurs to enter the manufacturing sector with reduced capital expenditure, fostering local economic growth.

Official Insights and Strategic Alignment

MPIDC Executive Director Rajesh Rathore highlighted that the project is strategically aligned with the demands of smaller enterprises. "We are witnessing strong interest from MSMEs in smaller towns. Jaora has significant potential for agro-based industries, engineering units, and value-added manufacturing. The industrial area has been meticulously planned to support diversified industrial growth in the region," he stated.

Allotment Process and Terms

The plot allotment will be conducted through an online e-bidding process on the MP e-tender portal. Key terms include:

  • Bidders are required to deposit 25% of the total premium amount in advance.
  • Allotments will be granted on a 99-year lease basis exclusively for industrial use.
  • The process aims to ensure transparency and accessibility for all interested parties.

This development marks a crucial step in enhancing industrial infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh, providing MSMEs with opportunities to scale operations and contribute to regional economic development.
