Amitabh Bachchan Expands Real Estate Portfolio with Ayodhya Land Purchase
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has made a significant real estate investment by purchasing a 2.67-acre land parcel in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, for Rs 35 crore. The transaction was conducted with real estate developer House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), as reported by PTI.
Transaction Details and Strategic Location
The deal was executed by Rajesh Yadav, Managing Director of AB Corp Ltd, the company associated with Bachchan. The newly acquired land is strategically located near HoABL's expansive 75-acre luxury land development project, 'The Sarayu', in Ayodhya. This purchase underscores Bachchan's growing interest in the temple city's real estate market.
Bachchan's Growing Investments in Ayodhya
This acquisition represents Bachchan's third investment in Ayodhya through HoABL and his fourth overall in the region. Earlier in January 2024, the actor had purchased land parcels within 'The Sarayu' project. Additionally, Bachchan has invested in HoABL's 'Sol de Alibaug' project, where he acquired a 10,000 sq ft plot, demonstrating a diversified approach to his real estate portfolio.
Developer's Perspective on the Investment
Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of HoABL, commented on the transaction, stating, "Mr Bachchan's investment reflects a shared belief in land as an inter-generational asset that preserves value over the long term. Faith in Ayodhya is a legacy shared by generations." He emphasized that Ayodhya is increasingly emerging as a prime destination for long-term land ownership and value creation, driven by sustained infrastructure development and substantial public investment.

Founded in 2020, HoABL specializes in branded land developments, aiming to transform land ownership through transparency, technology, and trust. The company has achieved remarkable growth, selling over 13 million sq ft of developed land within five years and currently managing around 34 million sq ft under active development.

In a strategic move, HoABL has recently entered the vertical real estate development sector. The company currently has three projects in Mumbai, covering approximately 3.1 million sq ft, indicating a shift towards high-density urban developments alongside its traditional land-focused model.
