Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched ‘Zip Fuel’, its first doorstep diesel delivery service in Indore, operating out of Petro Filling Station in Palsikar Colony. The service enables consumers to order fuel directly to their homes or workplaces, addressing procurement challenges after strict enforcement of rules banning diesel sales in unapproved containers.
Background and Need
According to Rajendra Singh Vasu, president of Indore Petrol Dealers Association and operator of the filling station, the initiative resolves disruptions for consumers reliant on generators, agricultural implements, construction machinery, and industrial units. Indore Food Supply Controller Mohan Maru confirmed that this BPCL-backed initiative is fully exempted from the administrative ban on selling loose fuel in containers. Maru noted that the local administration had already eased restrictions for farming operations, emergency services, and critical infrastructure projects to ensure uninterrupted public utility operations.
Key Features of the Service
Order Volumes and Packaging
Consumers can order a minimum of 20 litres up to a maximum of 200 litres per transaction. The fuel is distributed in 20-litre cans certified by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization.

The service covers a majority of sectors within Indore city. The logistics team targets a maximum delivery turnaround time of four hours from the time of order confirmation.
Measurement Accuracy
Distribution vehicles are equipped with certified measurement devices, including a five-litre calibrated testing instrument, to verify volume precision at the delivery site.
Impact and Compliance
The service ensures that consumers comply with regulations while accessing diesel for essential needs. By using certified containers and measurement devices, BPCL guarantees accuracy and safety. The initiative is expected to benefit generator users, farmers, construction firms, and industrial units in Indore.
