Chatra buyer-seller meet boosts mango growers' market

In a bid to provide better market access and ensure fair prices for mango growers, the district administration on Saturday organised a buyer-seller interaction programme at the Development Bhawan auditorium. The initiative was held under the direction of Ravi Anand.

Programme Objectives

The programme, chaired by District Rural Development Authority (DRDA) Alka Kumari, aimed to connect mango cultivators directly with buyers and strengthen marketing opportunities for horticulture farmers in the district. A total of 10 buyers from within and outside the district participated in the event, while 46 mango growers from different blocks attended with samples of their produce.

Key Discussions

During the interaction, buyers and farmers discussed issues related to procurement, quality standards, packaging, transportation and marketing. Officials said the discussions helped both sides understand market expectations and production challenges, paving the way for better price realisation for farmers.
