Pune International Business Summit 2026 Set to Foster Global Business Connections

The Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA) has announced the organization of the seventh edition of the Pune International Business Summit (PIBS) 2026. This significant event is scheduled to take place on February 9 and 10 in Pune, aiming to bring together a diverse array of international stakeholders to drive economic growth and collaboration.

Global Participation and Key Attendees

The summit is projected to attract participation from over 32 countries, with more than 60 international delegates and over 50 distinguished speakers expected to attend. Among the notable officials confirmed for the event are Rajneesh, the development commissioner for MSMEs, and P Velrasu, the chief executive officer of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Their presence underscores the importance of this summit in promoting industrial and economic development.

Focus on Strategic Sectors and Initiatives

The sessions at PIBS 2026 will concentrate on pivotal sectors that are crucial for economic advancement, including defence, automotive, global capability centres (GCCs), artificial intelligence (AI), agriculture, and food processing. These discussions are designed to explore opportunities and challenges in these areas, fostering innovation and partnership.

In a strategic move to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the MCCIA has facilitated a reverse buyer-seller meet under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme. This initiative, funded by the ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, will involve over 25 international buyers from 10 countries engaging in structured B2B meetings with MSME exporters from Maharashtra.

Objectives and Expected Outcomes

The primary goals of this initiative are to provide MSMEs with direct access to global buyers, support the generation of export orders, foster long-term international business partnerships, and enhance the export competitiveness of these enterprises. By bridging the gap between local MSMEs and international markets, the summit aims to create sustainable economic benefits and strengthen Maharashtra's position in the global trade landscape.

This edition of PIBS builds on the success of previous summits, leveraging Pune's reputation as a hub for industry and innovation. The event is expected to not only facilitate immediate business transactions but also lay the groundwork for future collaborations and investments in key sectors.
