The Bihar BEd Combined Entrance Test (CET-BEd) for the 2026–28 academic session is scheduled to take place across the state on June 7. Eligible candidates can submit their online applications until May 18. Those who miss the initial deadline may apply between May 19 and 21, subject to a late fee of Rs 500.
Application and Correction Window
CET-BEd state nodal officer Sanjay Kumar, who also serves as the head of the electronics department at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU), Muzaffarpur, announced that the application correction window will be open on May 22 and 23. Admit cards will be available for download starting June 1.
Exam Pattern and Structure
The entrance test will be conducted on OMR sheets and will comprise 120 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark. The duration of the examination will be two hours. The question paper will include 15 questions each from English and Hindi, 25 questions on logical and analytical reasoning, 40 questions from general knowledge, and 25 questions related to the teaching-learning environment. There will be no negative marking.
Qualifying Marks and Seat Capacity
The qualifying marks have been fixed at 42 for the unreserved category and 36 for reserved categories, including SC and ST candidates. The state government has capped the number of applications at 80,000. So far, nearly 40,000 candidates have applied, compared to approximately 1.18 lakh applicants last year. This year, admissions will be conducted for approximately 37,500 seats in BEd colleges across Bihar.
Patliputra University (PPU) dean of students’ welfare and nodal officer Rajeev Ranjan stated that the university has 56 BEd colleges under its jurisdiction, offering around 6,500 seats.
Application Fee
The application fee for general category candidates is Rs 1,000, while candidates from divyang, EWS, BC categories and women applicants will have to pay Rs 750. For SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs 500.
Examination Centres and Result Timeline
Examination centres have been established in Patna, Ara, Bhagalpur, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Gaya, Hajipur, Madhepura, Munger, Muzaffarpur, and Purnia. The provisional answer key will be released on June 8, and candidates can raise objections on June 9 and 10. The results are scheduled to be declared on June 19. BRABU, Muzaffarpur, has been assigned the responsibility of conducting the entrance test.
