CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Expected Declaration Shortly
The Central Board of Secondary Education is anticipated to announce the CBSE Class 12 Result 2026 in the coming days. This expectation has been heightened after a Result Coming Soon banner linked to Class 12 results was reportedly activated on DigiLocker, indicating that backend preparations for digital marksheet hosting are in their final phase.
The Class 12 board examinations for the 2026 session were conducted from February 17 to April 10, 2026. This year, CBSE introduced the On-Screen Marking system for digital evaluation of answer sheets, a process designed to reduce manual errors and expedite the compilation of results.
Where Students Can Check Results
Once declared, students will be able to access their marks through the official websites cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. Additionally, results will be available on DigiLocker, the UMANG application, and via SMS services. To check the result online, students must enter their roll number, school number, and admit card ID. Given the high traffic immediately after the declaration, students may also use alternative digital platforms provided by the board.
How to Download Marksheet via DigiLocker
Students will be able to access provisional digital marksheets through DigiLocker soon after the result announcement. To download the marksheet, candidates need to log in using Aadhaar-linked or registered mobile credentials. After signing in, students should open the Education section and select the Central Board of Secondary Education option. They can then click on Class XII Marksheet, enter the required examination credentials, and download the provisional document. Original marksheets and passing certificates will be distributed through schools later.
Result Timeline After DigiLocker Update
The activation of the DigiLocker banner has intensified focus on the expected declaration date. Such banners typically appear when backend arrangements for digital marksheet hosting are in their final stages. Reports from the evaluation process suggest that the result could be announced today, tomorrow, or within the current week. May 10, 2026, falls on a Sunday, which may influence the exact timing.
Post-Result Services
Following the result declaration, CBSE is expected to commence post-result services, including verification of marks, re-evaluation applications, photocopy requests for answer sheets, and compartment examination applications. The board has followed a regular May schedule in recent years, announcing Class 12 results on May 13 in both 2024 and 2025, and on May 12 in 2023. The overall Class 12 pass percentage last year stood at 88.39 percent.
Previous Declaration Trends
The board has largely adhered to a mid-May declaration pattern. In 2025 and 2024, results were announced on May 13, while in 2023, the result was published on May 12. The 2022 schedule shifted to July due to the pandemic. This year, the return to a regular timeline is evident, with the Class 10 Result 2026 declared on April 15, 2026. A total of 24,71,777 candidates appeared for the Class 10 examination, with 23,16,008 passing.
Digital Evaluation System
The introduction of the On-Screen Marking system marks a significant procedural change. Answer sheets were checked electronically, reducing reliance on manual methods. This system aims to streamline the checking process and minimize tabulation errors. Reports indicate that digital assessment may have accelerated evaluation completion compared to previous sessions.
