CBSE Extends Date for Class 12 Answer Sheet Copies
CBSE Extends Date for Class 12 Answer Sheet Copies

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced an extension in the deadline for students to apply for scanned copies of their Class 12 answer sheets. This move aims to provide students with more time to review their evaluated answer scripts and seek re-evaluation if needed.

New Deadline and Application Process

Students can now submit their requests for scanned copies of answer sheets until June 10, 2026. The earlier deadline was May 25, 2026. The application process is entirely online through the CBSE's official portal. Students must log in using their credentials, select the subjects for which they require scanned copies, and pay the prescribed fee.

Fee Structure

The fee for obtaining scanned copies is set at Rs 500 per subject. Payment can be made through online modes such as credit card, debit card, or net banking. The board has clarified that no offline applications will be accepted.

Steps to Apply

  • Visit the official CBSE website: cbse.gov.in.
  • Click on the 'Scanned Copy of Answer Sheet' link under the 'Examinations' section.
  • Enter your roll number, date of birth, and other required details.
  • Select the subjects for which you want scanned copies.
  • Pay the fee online.
  • Submit the application and save the confirmation receipt.

Purpose of the Extension

The CBSE extended the deadline in response to requests from students and parents who faced technical glitches or lacked sufficient time to apply. The board emphasizes that reviewing answer sheets can help students understand their performance and identify areas for improvement. Moreover, it enables them to apply for re-evaluation if they find any discrepancy in the marking.

Important Points for Students

  • Scanned copies will be provided only for the main answer sheets, not for supplementary sheets.
  • Students must use the same login credentials used for result checking.
  • The scanned copies will be available for download within 15 days from the date of application.
  • No physical copies will be sent; only digital copies are provided.
  • The board has warned against any fraudulent activities and urged students to apply only through the official website.

Re-evaluation Process

After obtaining the scanned copies, students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for re-evaluation. The re-evaluation application window is expected to open soon after the scanned copy distribution period ends. Students must submit a separate fee for re-evaluation, which is Rs 100 per question for subjects with subjective questions.

CBSE has also clarified that the re-evaluation process will be conducted by experienced examiners, and the revised marks will be considered final. Students are advised to carefully review their answer sheets and make an informed decision before applying for re-evaluation.

For any queries, students can contact the CBSE helpline numbers or send an email to the board's official address. The board has also set up a dedicated portal for grievances related to answer sheets and re-evaluation.
