Devina Gahlot from Delhi has topped the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET-UG) 2026, according to results released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 23, 2026. The announcement marks a significant milestone as the NTA reported a 20% increase in candidate participation compared to the 2025 cycle.
Record Participation and Performance Metrics
NTA data revealed that over 1.5 million candidates registered for CUET-UG 2026, up from 1.25 million in 2025. The exam, conducted across 500 centers nationwide, saw a 95% attendance rate. The top 10 ranks were dominated by students from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, with Gahlot scoring a perfect 800 out of 800 in the core subjects.
Impact on University Admissions
"The results reflect the growing trust in the CUET system for fair and transparent admissions," said an NTA spokesperson. Over 250 central and participating universities will use these scores for UG admissions starting July 2026. The increase in participation underscores the exam's expanding role in higher education.
