ICSE, ISC Results: Girls Outperform Boys, Pass Rate Over 99%

Dehradun: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) declared the Class 10 ICSE and Class 12 ISC results on Thursday, with girls outperforming boys in both examinations and overall pass percentages remaining above 99%.

Overall Pass Percentages

The ICSE pass percentage stood at 99.18%, while the ISC pass percentage was 99.13%. The ISC examination was conducted in 1,553 schools and saw 1,03,316 candidates, including 54,118 boys and 49,198 girls. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 99.48%, ahead of boys at 98.81%. In ICSE, 2,58,721 candidates from 2,957 schools appeared, including 1,37,503 boys and 1,21,218 girls, with girls recording a pass percentage of 99.46% and boys 98.93%.

Regional Performance

Among the regions, the north recorded the highest participation in both examinations. In ISC, the south emerged as the best-performing region with a pass percentage of 99.87%, followed by the west at 99.55%. In ICSE, the west led with 99.85%, closely followed by the south at 99.81%.

Top Performers in Dehradun

In Dehradun, Summer Valley School reported strong performances in both examinations. Hiya Goyal topped the school in ICSE with 99%, followed by Chirag Bahuguna and Amishi Sandilya with 98.8% each. In ISC, Shreshtha Rawat topped with 99%, followed by Mansi Jain with 98.5%. Shreshtha said, “For me, studies went hand in hand with extracurriculars like classical dance and student council.” A science student, she said she wanted to pursue engineering. She is the daughter of a government teacher and a CRPF officer.

At Welham Girls’, Tehzeeb Sullar was the topper with a score of 99.25% in ISC while Siddhika Agarwal came first in ICSE with 99.2%. At St Joseph’s Academy, Aarush Arora and Nishad Nanda jointly topped ICSE with 99%, while Anushka Kotnala topped ISC with 99.5%, followed by Siya Maheshwari with 99.25%. At St Thomas’ College, Garima Sharma topped ISC with 98.25%, while Ridhima Arora and Swatika Naudiyal followed with 97.5% each. Aadia Sagar topped ICSE with 98.2%.
