The National Testing Agency (NTA) will activate an online portal today, May 21, 2026, for candidates to submit their bank account details to claim a refund of the NEET UG 2026 examination fee. Candidates appearing for the re-examination will not have to pay any additional fee, as previously announced.
Refund Process
To complete the refund, NTA will launch a dedicated portal on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates must log in and provide valid bank account details to receive the refund of the fee paid earlier.
Re-examination Details
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination follows the cancellation of the earlier exam held on May 3 due to allegations of a paper leak and other irregularities. Over 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the re-test, which will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode on June 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
City Preference Update
NTA has also allowed candidates to update their present address and preferred examination city due to relocation or address changes. Modifications can be made through the official website until May 21, 2026, at 11:50 PM. The agency clarified that the examination centre for the re-exam may differ from the previous centre based on updated city choices and centre availability.
Important Information
According to the FAQ released by NTA, candidates cannot change the medium of examination selected during the original application process. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website neet.nta.nic.in for updates on the refund process, city preference, admit card, and re-examination schedule.
