The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate medical courses was conducted smoothly in Delhi on Sunday, with authorities reporting no major irregularities. The exam, held across 50 centers in the national capital, saw the participation of over 20,000 candidates.
Stringent Security Measures
To ensure a fair and transparent examination process, the Delhi Police and other agencies implemented stringent security measures. CCTV cameras were installed at all centers, and frisking was conducted at entry points. Mobile phones and other electronic devices were strictly prohibited inside the exam halls.
Adherence to COVID-19 Protocols
In addition to security, COVID-19 protocols were strictly followed. Candidates were required to wear masks and maintain social distancing. Sanitizers were provided at the entrance, and thermal screening was conducted for all examinees.
Parents and students expressed relief at the smooth conduct of the exam. "The arrangements were very good. There was no chaos, and the staff was helpful," said Ritu Sharma, a parent accompanying her daughter to a center in South Delhi.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the exam, had earlier issued detailed guidelines for candidates. The results are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
