More than eight lakh candidates who appeared for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations can now access their scores through multiple platforms including official websites, SMS, WhatsApp, and their respective schools.

To ensure smooth access and reduce server congestion, the department has activated several official portals where students can view and download their scorecards. Candidates must enter their registration number and date of birth to log in. The designated websites are:

Steps to Download TN HSC Result 2026 Online
Students can follow these simple steps to obtain their scorecards from any official website:
- Visit any of the official result portals listed above.
- Click on the TN HSC Result 2026 link prominently displayed on the homepage.
- Enter your registration number and date of birth accurately.
- Click the submit button to view your result.
- Download and take a printout of the scorecard for future reference.
Schools across Tamil Nadu will also receive the result data, enabling students to collect their marks directly from their institutions.
WhatsApp and SMS Facilities for Result Access
To make result access easier, the department has introduced a WhatsApp service in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency. Students can follow these steps to receive their scores via WhatsApp:
- Send a 'Hi' message to the number 7845252525.
- In the chat, provide your class, registration number, and date of birth as prompted.
- Your result will be shared through the same WhatsApp chat.
Furthermore, result details will be sent via SMS to the mobile numbers that students had submitted in their undertaking forms at schools. This ensures that even if websites experience heavy traffic, students can still receive their marks promptly.
Passing Criteria and Re-totalling Process
To pass the TN HSC examination, students must secure a minimum of 35 marks in each theory subject. For subjects that include practical components, candidates need at least 15 marks in theory and a combined total of 35 marks, including practical and internal assessment. The practical subjects are evaluated out of 70 marks for theory, 20 marks for practicals, and 10 marks for internal assessment. While there is no minimum mark requirement for practicals, attendance is compulsory.
Students who suspect discrepancies in their total marks can apply for re-totalling after the result declaration. The fee for re-totalling is set at Rs 205 per subject. The Tamil Nadu board will announce the application schedule and procedure separately.

Previous Year Performance
In the previous academic year, a total of 7,92,494 students appeared for the Class 12 examinations. The overall pass percentage was 95.03%, with girls outperforming boys at 96.70% compared to 93.16%. The Class 10 pass percentage in 2025 stood at 93.80%. The department has not yet released category-wise statistics for the current year.
