UP Board Releases Schedule for 2026 Compartment and Improvement Examinations

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has officially announced the dates for the compartment and improvement examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 students for the year 2026. According to the official notification, the Class 10 compartment exams will be conducted from July 20 to July 28, 2026, while the Class 12 exams will run from July 20 to July 30, 2026.

Students who have failed in one or two subjects in the regular board exams are eligible to apply for the compartment exams. Additionally, those who wish to improve their scores can also apply for the improvement exams. The application process has already begun and will remain open until July 10, 2026, without any late fee.

Registration and Fee Details

Candidates can submit their applications online through the official UPMSP website. The application fee for each subject is Rs. 300 for general category students and Rs. 200 for reserved category students. The fee can be paid via online modes including net banking, debit card, or credit card. Students are advised to fill the form carefully as no corrections will be allowed after submission.

“The board has made the application process entirely online to ensure transparency and ease for students. Candidates must check all details before final submission,” said a UPMSP official in a statement.

Admit Card and Exam Pattern

The UPMSP will release the admit cards for the compartment and improvement exams in the first week of July 2026. Students can download them from the official website using their roll number and date of birth. The exams will be held in pen-and-paper mode at designated centers across the state.

The question paper pattern will be similar to the regular board exams, with the same marking scheme and duration. For Class 10, each subject exam will be of 100 marks, while for Class 12, the theory papers will be of 70 marks each, with practical exams conducted separately.

Important Instructions for Students

Students must carry their admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam hall. No electronic gadgets, including mobile phones and smartwatches, will be permitted. The board has also instructed students to reach the exam center at least 30 minutes before the start of the exam. Any malpractice or unfair means will lead to strict action as per board rules.

Last year, over 2.5 lakh students appeared for the UP Board compartment exams, and this year the number is expected to be similar. The results for the compartment exams are likely to be announced in August 2026.
