Patliputra University (PPU) has appointed principal-in-charges at 16 newly established Rajkiya degree colleges located across various blocks in Patna and Nalanda districts, following directives from the state higher education department.
PPU registrar Abu Bakar confirmed that preparations have begun to start academic activities in these colleges from the 2026–27 academic session. The admission process will be completed soon to ensure timely commencement of classes. The appointed principal-in-charges have been instructed to make all necessary arrangements for smooth academic and administrative functioning at their respective institutions.
The colleges are situated in Sampatchak, Daniyawan, Khusrupur, Athmalgola, Belchi, Ghoshwari, and Maner in Patna district, as well as Rahui, Noorsarai, Bind, Nagarnausa, Katrisarai, Tharthari, Karai Parsurai, Parwalpur, and Sarmera in Nalanda district. This initiative is aimed at strengthening access to higher education in rural and semi-urban areas.
The new colleges are expected to benefit students who currently have to travel long distances for undergraduate studies. The university will also send representatives to facilitate the appointment and coordination of teaching and non-teaching staff, according to PPU Vice-Chancellor Upendra Prasad Singh.
"Efforts are being made to operationalise all the colleges within the stipulated timeframe so that students can begin enrolment without delay," the VC added.
