NEET Fee Refund Deadline Today: 8.29 Lakh Candidates Confirm Bank Details
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the window for NEET fee refunds will close today, July 7, 2026. As of the latest update, 8.29 lakh candidates have successfully confirmed their bank details to receive refunds for examination fees. This initiative follows the cancellation of the NEET exam due to administrative reasons, prompting the NTA to process refunds for all registered candidates.
How to Confirm Bank Details
Candidates who have not yet updated their bank information must do so before the deadline. The process is simple: log in to the official NEET portal using their application number and date of birth. Navigate to the 'Fee Refund' section, enter accurate bank account details (account number, IFSC code, and branch name), and submit. The NTA has emphasized that incomplete or incorrect details may lead to refund delays or forfeiture.
Refund Amount and Timeline
The refund amount is the full examination fee paid by candidates, ranging from ₹1,600 to ₹3,000 depending on category and gender. The NTA aims to process refunds within 15 working days after the window closes. Candidates are advised to keep a screenshot of the confirmation page for future reference.
Official Statement from NTA
“Candidates must ensure their bank details are correct and submitted before the deadline. Any failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of the refund amount,” said an NTA official. The agency has also set up a helpline for queries: 011-40759000.
Impact on Candidates
With over 8 lakh candidates already confirming, the NTA expects the remaining few thousand to act promptly. The refund is critical for students who may have paid fees from limited resources. The NTA has also announced that a fresh NEET exam will be conducted in September 2026, with registration details to be released soon.
