Karnataka Governor: Education is Sanskar, Youth Key to Tech Leadership

Governor Gehlot Elevates Education Beyond Degrees at Davangere University Convocation

In a profound address at Davangere University's 13th annual convocation, Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot redefined education as more than just a pathway to degrees or employment. He described it as a vital form of 'sanskar', a transformative process that cultivates morality, empathy, and social responsibility in individuals.

Youth Power: The Backbone of India's Future

Highlighting India's position with the highest youth population globally, Governor Gehlot emphasized that this youth power serves as the nation's backbone. He invoked the wisdom of Swami Vivekananda, urging the youth to commit to national development. "By the time India celebrates the centenary year of Independence, the future of the nation will rest in the hands of today's youths," he stated, underscoring their critical role in steering the country towards technological leadership.

Embracing Innovation in the AI Era

In today's rapidly evolving landscape dominated by artificial intelligence and data sciences, the governor advised students to look beyond traditional campus placements. "Instead, they should come up with innovative ideas to set up start-ups," he encouraged, adding that failure should not be feared but viewed as a valuable lesson in the entrepreneurial journey. He also reminded students to remain grateful to their parents and teachers, who form the foundation of their growth.
