Kerala CM unveils plan for world-class educational institutions

Thiruvananthapuram: The state government is moving forward with steps to establish world-class educational institutions and courses in Kerala to realize the dreams of the new generation, Chief Minister V D Satheesan said on Monday. He was inaugurating the state-level launch of the ‘Padom 1 Puthuyuga Vidyalayam - School Admission Festival’ organized by the Department of General Education and Samagra Shiksha Kerala at Pattom Govt Girls Higher Secondary School.

Chief Minister’s Reflections

Sharing his nostalgic childhood memories, the Chief Minister recalled walking to school in the rain. He emphasized that parents have big dreams for their children’s education and acknowledged the significant contribution of mothers in Kerala to educational progress. He urged teachers and parents to develop a friendly relationship to encourage children’s talents through mutual sharing. Identifying and nurturing each child’s interests and abilities from a young age is a joint responsibility of parents and teachers, he said.

Learning from Global Examples

The Chief Minister shared an experience from a school in London where a student’s extraordinary mathematical ability was identified and communicated to the parents. “Identifying and nurturing each child’s unique talent is a primary mission of the educational system. The world is going through an era of knowledge explosion, and in a situation where new knowledge is formed every moment, students should cultivate an inquisitive mindset. In the age of artificial intelligence, the curiosity to acquire knowledge is the foundation of life’s success,” he said.
