Lucknow University on Monday announced that teachers from affiliated colleges will be permitted to pursue part-time PhD programs starting from the next academic session. This decision was reached during a meeting between Vice-Chancellor Professor JP Saini and representatives of the Lucknow University Associated Colleges Teachers’ Association (LUACTA).
Digital Evaluation System and Online Portal
Professor Saini stated that the university is developing an online portal to ensure timely payments to teachers for evaluating answer sheets. Additionally, the university is working towards implementing a comprehensive digital evaluation system from the next session. This move is expected to streamline the assessment process and reduce delays.
Sports Council to Boost Student Talent
In a bid to encourage students to develop their talents and promote sports activities, Lucknow University will soon establish a sports council. The council will focus on identifying and nurturing sporting talent among students, providing them with better opportunities and infrastructure.
The university administration is optimistic that these initiatives will enhance the academic and extracurricular environment on campus. The part-time PhD option will allow teachers to upgrade their qualifications without leaving their teaching positions, while the digital evaluation system promises efficiency and transparency. The sports council is expected to bring a renewed focus to athletics and team sports at the university.
