Bengaluru: The Ramaiah Group is set to launch a new greenfield deemed-to-be university, the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), which will offer an industry-embedded engineering curriculum and focus on translational research. The university aims to prepare students for global knowledge environments, moving beyond traditional teaching models.
Programs and Campus
Initially, RISM will offer engineering programs in computer science and artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering, and electrical sciences. The transit campus will commence operations in August 2025, while the main campus is expected to be fully operational by September 2028. The main campus will be located in the Information Technology Investment Region near Devanahalli.
Knowledge Partnership
The university has partnered with the University at Albany, State University of New York, as its knowledge partner. This collaboration will help in designing the curriculum to meet global standards.
MR Jayaram, chairman of Gokula Education Foundation, which runs Ramaiah institutions, emphasized the innovative approach: “We are not building a centre for teaching, but a centre for learning.”
Admissions and Fees
Admissions will be merit-based, relying on ranks from the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) and the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (ComedK). Applications will open after the official launch of the university on June 4, 2025.
The fee structure ranges from Rs 10 to 12 lakh per annum. Merit-based scholarships will be available for eligible students.
