UPSDM Celebrates Young Skill Champions in Grand Lucknow Ceremony

The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) organized a prestigious felicitation ceremony in Lucknow on Wednesday to honor the outstanding winners of the state-level skill competition for the year 2025-26. This significant event served as a platform to celebrate the remarkable achievements of young talents who demonstrated exceptional proficiency across various skill categories, while simultaneously underscoring the state government's intensified focus on youth empowerment through contemporary, industry-relevant training programs.

Recognizing Excellence Across Diverse Skill Trades

The ceremony, which took place at the UPSDM headquarters, was a momentous occasion that recognized a total of 40 winners spanning 20 different skill trades. This diverse representation highlighted the wide spectrum of vocational expertise being nurtured within the state. The event was graced by the presence of key officials who personally commended the achievers for their dedication and skill mastery.

Leadership Encourages Future Champions

Principal Secretary for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Hari Om, alongside Mission Director Pulkit Khare, presided over the ceremony. They presented trophies and certificates to the winners, symbolizing formal recognition of their hard-earned accomplishments. Both officials engaged in meaningful interactions with the participants, discussing their training journeys, future aspirations, and the challenges they overcame.

During his address, Hari Om emphasized the government's unwavering commitment. "The government is dedicated to equipping our youth with modern, job-oriented, and globally competitive skills. Competitions like these are instrumental in building confidence, fostering healthy rivalry, and creating clear pathways for young individuals to potentially represent India on international platforms," he stated, reinforcing the strategic vision behind such initiatives.

Strategic Preparation for Higher Competitions

Mission Director Pulkit Khare described the state-level competition as a crucial foundational step for identifying and nurturing talent destined for national and global arenas. In a significant announcement, he revealed that all 40 winners have been selected to attend a special, intensive boot camp scheduled for February 4th and 5th. This preparatory camp is designed to provide expert-led training, specifically aimed at equipping these champions for the upcoming north region skill competition, marking the next step in their competitive journey.

Mission's Broader Vision for Skill Development

Additional Mission Director Priya Singh also addressed the gathering, highlighting the UPSDM's continuous efforts to enhance the quality of vocational training across Uttar Pradesh. She elaborated on the mission's broader objectives to promote self-reliance and economic independence among the youth through robust skill development programs. The felicitation ceremony, therefore, was not just a celebration of past achievements but a clear indicator of the state's proactive approach to creating a skilled, confident, and future-ready workforce capable of meeting both domestic and international industry demands.
