Buxar District Administration Conducts Comprehensive Review for Upcoming Secondary Examinations

In preparation for the annual secondary examination scheduled from February 17 to 25, District Magistrate Sahila and Superintendent of Police Shubham Arya convened a crucial review meeting on Monday at the district registration-cum-counselling centre (DRCC). The primary objective was to assess and finalize law and order arrangements to guarantee the seamless and fair conduct of the examinations across the district.

Examination Scale and Infrastructure Details

According to a joint order issued by the DM and SP, the examination will be administered in two distinct shifts. A substantial total of 25,489 candidates are registered to appear. The district has established 30 examination centres strategically located, with 16 centres in Buxar and 14 in Dumraon. All centre superintendents were present at the review meeting to coordinate efforts.

Elaborate Security and Vigilance Framework

District Magistrate Sahila detailed an extensive security apparatus that has been mobilized. The deployment includes:

  • 61 static magistrates stationed at various points
  • 17 question paper distribution patrol teams to ensure secure transit
  • 6 zonal magistrates for regional oversight
  • 4 super-zonal magistrates for higher-level coordination

This multi-layered structure is designed to maintain strict vigilance throughout the examination period.

Strict Entry Protocols and Prohibitions

The administration has implemented rigorous entry and conduct rules:

  1. Two-stage frisking is mandatory for all candidates at every examination centre.
  2. Female superintendents and invigilators will be specifically deployed to assist and monitor girl candidates.
  3. The use of cellphones, smart watches, pagers, and other electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited inside all examination centres.

The examination schedule is as follows:

  • First Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM (Entry from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM)
  • Second Shift: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM (Entry from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM)

No candidate will be permitted entry after the stipulated closing times for each shift.

Comprehensive Support and Auxiliary Arrangements

Authorities have ensured a wide range of support measures to facilitate the examinations:

  • Dedicated security deployment at all centres
  • Efficient traffic management plans
  • Availability of fire-fighting vehicles on standby
  • Uninterrupted power supply arrangements
  • Medical emergency teams on call
  • Active monitoring of social media platforms to prevent malpractice

Proactive Measures to Prevent Malpractice

Sub-divisional and police officers have received explicit directives to:

  1. Conduct regular and surprise inspections of all examination centres
  2. Order the temporary closure of photocopy shops in the vicinity of centres
  3. Patrol their assigned super zones consistently to deter any unfair practices

Law and Order Enforcement Through Section 144

To maintain public order and prevent disruptions, sub-divisional magistrates Avinash Kumar (Buxar) and Rakesh Kumar (Dumraon) have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the CrPC within a 200-metre radius of each examination centre. As per this order, the assembly of more than five persons is banned throughout the examination duration, ensuring a controlled and peaceful environment for all candidates.

The collective efforts of the district administration and police force aim to create a secure, transparent, and conducive atmosphere for the thousands of students undertaking this crucial academic assessment.
