ICAI Announces New Date for CA Intermediate Auditing & Ethics Paper

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially changed the date for the Chartered Accountants (CA) Intermediate Examination January 2026, Group II, Paper 5 Auditing and Ethics. The institute issued a notice on January 19, 2026, confirming the postponement.

Revised Examination Schedule Details

ICAI moved the Auditing and Ethics paper from its original date. Candidates must now mark their calendars for the new schedule.

  • Previous Exam Date: 19 January 2026 (Monday)
  • New Exam Date: 31 January 2026 (Saturday)
  • Exam Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (Indian Standard Time)

The examination will take place at the same centers previously assigned. Students do not need to go to different locations. All other arrangements stay unchanged.

Admit Cards Remain Valid for Rescheduled Test

ICAI clarified that admit cards already distributed will work for the new date. Candidates should bring the same admit card on January 31, 2026. No replacement or reissue is necessary.

No Adjustments for Public Holidays

The institute made it clear that public holidays will not affect the exam schedule. Even if the Central Government, State Government, or local authorities declare a holiday, the examination will proceed as planned.

Other CA Exams Continue as Per Original Plan

ICAI confirmed that the remaining papers of the CA Foundation January 2026 Examination will happen on their original dates. These exams are scheduled for January 20, 22, and 24, 2026. The postponement only applies to the Auditing and Ethics paper.
