Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Honors Officials and Teachers for Aiding Injured Board Exam Students
In a heartwarming ceremony held on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan of Dhanbad felicitated a group of dedicated officials and teachers. They were recognized for their swift and compassionate response in nursing JAC board examinees who were injured in a severe road accident, and for making special arrangements to help these students write their examination papers without disruption.
Details of the Road Accident and Immediate Response
The incident occurred at approximately 8 am on Friday, when 11 students from Rajendra Kanya Middle School were traveling in a van to appear for their English paper at KBR High School in Mahuda, via the Chhatrutand panchayat. Their vehicle was suddenly rammed from behind by a truck at Sinidih Mor, causing the van to flip twice due to the impact of the collision.
Two examinees, identified as Komal Kumari and Anjali Kumari, sustained serious injuries, while the other students suffered minor bruises. Responding promptly to the emergency, block programme officer Vikas Lal Das, community response person Madan Mohan Jha, and block education officer Ashok Kumar Pal rushed to the spot to provide immediate assistance.
Coordinated Efforts to Ensure Exam Continuity
The injured students were first taken to a local clinic for primary treatment. Principal Jay Horo of BTM Plus Two High School and Rajesh Srivastava of KBR High School extended crucial support during this critical time. To ensure the students could still take their exams, they were then ferried to their examination centre in a private vehicle.
At the centre, special seating arrangements were meticulously made for the seriously injured candidates, allowing them to write their papers comfortably. A team of government doctors camped at the examination centre throughout the duration of the exam, providing medical supervision until the conclusion of the test to ensure the students' well-being.

At the felicitation function, Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan commended the efforts of the officials and teachers involved.
