Specific Guidelines for Final-Year Training Candidates
The board has issued precise instructions for candidates who are currently in the final year of their training qualification during the academic year 2025-26. When completing the online application form, these individuals must select the option indicating they are in the final year of training under the “More Education” category.
They are required to enter their percentage as “0”, choose the class option as “Not Applicable”, and specify the passing year as 2026. This procedural clarity is designed to accommodate eligible candidates who are yet to complete their formal qualifications.
Examination Schedule and Application Window Details
The Teacher Aptitude Test (Higher Secondary) is conducted annually to shortlist candidates for teaching positions in registered government and private higher secondary schools across Gujarat. The current recruitment drive is being executed as per Notification No. SEB/TAT-HS/2026/2042-2082.
The online application process commenced on February 10, 2026, and concluded on February 19, 2026, via the official OJAS website. The final date for the payment of application fees was February 20, 2026.
The Preliminary Test is scheduled to be held on March 29, 2026. Candidates who successfully qualify in this stage will then proceed to the Main Test, which is tentatively planned for May 2026.
Eligibility Criteria, Fee Structure, and Selection Procedure
Applicants must possess the qualifications prescribed by the Government of Gujarat for higher secondary teachers. Final-year postgraduate and B.Ed. students for the 2025-26 academic year were also eligible to apply, provided they could submit the necessary documentary proof before the final selection procedure.
The examination fee is set at Rs 500 for General category candidates and Rs 400 for SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, and PH categories. All fees must be paid online and are strictly non-refundable.
The selection procedure consists of two distinct stages. The preliminary examination is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) test with negative marking, totaling 200 marks and covering General Studies along with a special subject. Candidates who meet the prescribed cut-off marks will advance to the descriptive Main examination, also worth 200 marks. Those who clear both examinations will be included in the merit list for eligibility consideration.
