Maharashtra Student Pranav Bhosale Meets PM Modi at Pariksha Pe Charcha 2024
In a remarkable achievement, Pranav Bhosale, a Standard X student from Sangli district in Maharashtra, has become the only participant from the state selected to meet and interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This prestigious opportunity occurred during the ninth edition of the Prime Minister's Pariksha Pe Charcha program, which was broadcast on Friday morning.
Selection from Millions of Registrations
Out of a staggering 4.5 crore students from Standards VI to X who registered for the nationwide program, Pranav emerged as one of the 36 chosen participants. This selection represents one student from each state and Union Territory across India. Following his registration, Pranav submitted a video message in Hindi, outlining his vision for India's future.
In his video, he emphasized the critical role of youth in building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), which he described as the foundation for achieving the Prime Minister's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 (Developed India by 2047). His articulate presentation and clear message caught the attention of the selection committee, leading to his inclusion in the elite group.
A Journey to the Prime Minister's Residence
Pranav was invited to the Prime Minister's official residence in New Delhi on January 22 for the recording of the program. He was accompanied by his school principal, DN Patil, who provided mentorship and guidance throughout the entire process. Reflecting on the experience, Pranav expressed his astonishment, stating, "Spending over two hours at the PM's residence never crossed my mind. But it all came together unexpectedly."
He comes from a modest background, with his father earning approximately Rs 70,000 annually from a water-dependent farm where jowar and flowers are cultivated. As part of a family of six, Pranav aspires to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. He shared, "I never thought an opportunity like this would come my way. Being among the few selected feels unreal."
Interaction with Prime Minister Modi
During the event, each of the 36 students was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister Modi with an Assamese gamcha (traditional towel). The Prime Minister engaged in conversations with the students about their respective states, academic pursuits, and personal interests. Pranav recounted, "We introduced ourselves, and he asked us questions. The responses of 8-10 students were eventually aired."
Prime Minister Modi also shared valuable advice on managing exam pressure and maintaining composure in challenging situations. This interaction provided the students with practical insights and motivation, enhancing the educational value of the program.
Recognition from State Leadership
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended his congratulations through a social media post, highlighting the pride this achievement brings to Maharashtra. He wrote, "A student from a rural school getting an opportunity to interact with the PM is special — not just for Pranav, but for every student in the state." This acknowledgment underscores the significance of such opportunities in inspiring young minds across rural and urban areas alike.
School's Role in Nurturing Talent
Principal DN Patil of Ajitrao Ghorpade Vidyalay in Kalambi emphasized the school's commitment to excellence. With around 750 students from the village and neighboring regions, the institution consistently achieves a 100% pass rate in the Standard X board exams. Patil attributed Pranav's success to the school's focus on cleanliness and quality teaching.
He explained, "We prioritize cleanliness and quality teaching. These efforts helped Pranav develop confidence and present his message effectively through the video." This environment of support and dedication played a crucial role in preparing Pranav for this national platform.
