Cadet Ayush Raj Wins Best Speaker Trophy at Nalanda District English Debate

In a showcase of oratory skill and critical thinking, Cadet Ayush Raj from Sainik School Nalanda was declared the Best Debater, securing the coveted Best Speaker’s Trophy. This victory came during the Nalanda District Inter-School English Debate Competition held on Thursday at the school's Rajgir campus.

Sainik School Triumphs in Competitive Debate

The event, which revolved around the thought-provoking topic “Economic nationalism poses a threat to global stability,” saw spirited participation from twelve cadets representing six CBSE-affiliated schools. Sainik School Nalanda, represented by the duo of Saurabh Manish Singh and the triumphant Cadet Ayush Raj, emerged as the overall champion, securing the first position in the team event.

Other participating institutions included DAV Public School (Biharsharif), Sadar Alam Memorial Secondary School (Biharsharif), Kendriya Vidyalaya OFN (Rajgir), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (Rajgir), and PTJM Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Rajgir). The competition was formally inaugurated by Lt Col Deepak Singh Thakur, the officiating principal of Sainik School Nalanda, who served as the chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, Lt Col Thakur commended the participants for their clarity of thought and articulation. He emphasized the vital role debating plays in nurturing critical thinking and effective communication skills among students. A panel of judges comprising Prof Shrikant Singh, Shahidur Rahman, and Alok Kumar evaluated the performances. All participants received certificates in recognition of their efforts.

Science Exhibition Ignites Young Minds at St Michael’s

In a separate event aimed at fostering innovation, St Michael’s Primary School organized a science exhibition on Thursday. The exhibition successfully drew enthusiastic participation from students and attracted a large audience of parents and teachers.

Young innovators displayed a fascinating array of working models, including water purifiers, vacuum cleaners, sensor-based cars, hydraulic JCB machines, and potato batteries. Projects highlighting environmental degradation were also featured. A live demonstration of a Hydraulic Chandrayaan model captured significant attention and appreciation from visitors.

The judging panel, which included Jyoti Kumari, Adya, Jaimy KJ, and Sr Nijora Narzary, praised the students for their originality, conceptual understanding, and confidence. Parents lauded the children's creativity and the guidance provided by their teachers. The event served as an excellent interactive platform for students to explain scientific principles in a practical and engaging manner.

Educational Trip Offers Respite for NDA Students

Meanwhile, in an initiative to provide academic relief ahead of board examinations, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Notre Dame Academy (NDA) in Patna organized an educational trip for Class X students to Bapu Tower.

The visit was designed to reduce pre-exam stress while offering meaningful learning outside the classroom. Students watched inspirational films on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and explored exhibitions dedicated to values like truth, non-violence, and moral courage. Teachers and PTA members accompanied the students, ensuring the experience provided both motivation and moral strength in a relaxed setting. Organizers stated the trip successfully combined learning with recreation, helping students return to their studies with renewed focus and positivity.
